I’m more than alright.. I’m resilient!

Training must encompass helping an athlete put in place landmarks that will allow them to add specificity to a broad outcome request. - Coach A

As a young man, whom, like other young men believes they know much more than they do. I took one of my for Tennis Lessons. I’ve had my life. During the lesson, you basically stood in line and were fed balls, two at a time until you could show the coach that you could replicate The swing pattern that they were looking for. At this point, it was thought that the outcome was solely based on that form. From playing other sports, I felt this was incorrect, and that I could hit the ball in a variety of ways and still have it land exactly where they wanted it to, I believe they tried to convey that with out this form, the shot would not hold up in the future as it pertain to the outcome, but I realize they were dead wrong. That stock form that they were asking for should have been considered a basic shape or a guide, from which Persons with different athletic intelligence can work from. If you take someone who’s creatively put the ball right where you want over and over again and tell them it’s wrong because it doesn’t look like yours then they will eventually just stop listening to you. As a coach, I know that we look for repeatable landmarks that serve as the foundation, but those landmarks can be varied according to many factors, Least of which is that the person across from you is trying to not allow you to hit your most comfortable landmarks. Unlike that of a coach, his sole purpose is to make sure you fail at hitting the stock form that you must love. Practice must include large amounts of time learning to not let others determine your success or failure.
